TRANSPORTATION

SOLAR ENERGY IS AVAILABLE ALL OVER THE WORLD, MAKING IT THE PERFECT POWER SOURCE FOR TRAVEL BY LAND, SEA, AND AIR

Aesthetic glass to boost power in transportation

Smaller environmental footprint

Efforts to cut air pollution plus GHG reduction targets for 2030 are driving the use of clean energy in transportation.
Regulations on CO2 emissions aim to reduce emissions to a maximum of 95 kg/km per vehicle by 2020.
Automakers could earn green credits for adding solar roofs to cars.

Power for features

• Electric cabin window dimmers in airplanes to eliminate the need for blinds
• Lighting integrated into a deck hatch
• Comfort features: Power for vehicle stand-by features, such as precooling

Our technology at work: Energia, the self-dimming aircraft window

This window, developed by our partner Vision Systems, incorporates our Vision-Glass to power an SPD (suspended particle device) film.

With this SPD film, the window can be instantly dimmed to reduce the amount of light, glare, and heat entering the aircraft. This standalone wireless solution is completely independent of the aircraft’s electrical system.

OUR WYSIPS® TECHNOLOGIES FOR TRANSPORTATION

Wysips® Design-Glass and Vision-Glass meet a wide range of design and transparency needs. They are also color neutral and compatible with a variety of glazing types (thickness, size, and functional coatings, etc.).
Their near-infinite adaptability sets them apart from other solar windows and means they integrate seamlessly and aesthetically into your existing designs.
Wysips® Vision-Glass and Design-Glass provides extra energy for vehicles, trains, boats and planes. This energy powers stand-by functions without tapping into the main battery—such as pre-cooling or heating systems or communicate with other devices.
